Darcy Hagan, 35, is a catering and events manager and was ready for a seasonal update.
Darcy has medium textured, naturally strawberry blond hair. It was getting long and looking drab and she wanted to enhance her colour.
I strategically foilyaged around her hairline, creating ribbons of brightness around her face, then applied compact foil highlights throughout the hair. I used a beige-blond silk infused, decolourizer, which lifts and tones the hair to a neutral blond all in one step.
I shampooed her hair using Oribe Bright Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner which is specifically formulated with a violet pigment to eliminate brassiness.
I sectioned her hair and cut it into a diagonal forward bob. I cut the back on a 45 degree angle at the nape to create a little lift, then brought everything to a stationary guide for a more modern finish.
I eliminated some bulk by weave cutting the interior of the hair and cut it with a central vertical parting to create symmetry and to allow Darcy the option of styling it both with a middle part or a side part.
Before styling, I applied Oribe Imperial Blowout Transformative Styling Crème at the roots area, which softens and adds density and body to the hair. On the ends I sprayed Oribe Run-Through Detangling Spray as a leave-in conditioner and heat protector. I blow dried her hair using a paddle brush and styled it with a strong side parting.
Since it’s award season, and because Darcy keeps her makeup very neutral, we wanted to glam her up with a very pretty yet neutral smokey eye.
We contoured her crease and lid with a warm brown shadow then lined her eye with a charcoal cream liner. We blended the shadow and liner using plum tones as a transitional colour, then coated her eyes with black mascara. We filled in her brows to frame her beautiful eyes, then finished the look with a hint of bronzer to contour the face, a soft pink blush, and a lovely natural lip, so as not to overpower the eye makeup.
