Two Vancouver men arrested in 2019 Downtown Eastside homicide

Vancouver police have arrested two men in connection with the death of a man who collapsed in Vancouver’s West End last fall.

Fizul Mohammed was killed on Nov. 28, 2019. The 43-year-old was stabbed in the Downtown Eastside, but made his way to Vancouver’s West End. Mohammed was rushed to hospital after collapsing at Robson and Denman streets, but later succumbed to his injuries, prompting a homicide investigation.

The VPD announced Friday that the investigation has led to the arrest of two Vancouver men.

Shaikh Hussain, 26, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Trent Harper, 24, has been charged with one count of manslaughter.

Both men remain in custody.
