HIGH-END automaker Lexus sold a record 765,330 units worldwide last year, up 10 percent from the 2018 figure.
It credits the well-received UX and redesigned ES that were introduced in 2018; the popular RX, which was partially redesigned last August; and the expanding luxury market in China as having helped drive overall sales.
By region, Lexus sold approximately 325,000 units in North America; approximately 202,000 in China and Hong Kong, up 25 percent year-on-year; approximately 87,000 in Europe, up 14 percent; approximately 62,000 in Japan, up 13 percent; approximately 32,000 in the Middle East, up 8 percent; and approximately 34,000 in East Asia, also up 8 percent.
