The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday that it merely granted a court order when it allowed a member of the controversial Parojinog clan to seek hospital visit in November 2018.
PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said that based on the order of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 95, Nova Parojinog was allowed for a medical furlough on November 12, 2018.
Nova Parojinog is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame after she was arrested during the raid on their house in Ozamiz City that led to the death of her father Ozamiz City Reynaldo Parojinog, her mother and at least 12 others.
Banac statement came after the PNP was criticized for allegedly allowing Nova to leave her detention cell.
PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa then ordered all the policemen involved to explain.
“The PNP high command is satisfied with the explanation of the PNP Custodial Center officials on the circumstances surrounding the medical furlough of PUPC (Person Under Police Custody) Nova Parojinog,” said Banac in a statement issued on Wednesday.
“After thorough examination of documents and official reports, it became clear that the medical furlough of detainee Parojinog on November 12, 2018 had the express permission of the Court,” he added.
Based on the report, Parojinog was taken to the clinic of Dr. Louisse Orasa at Room 801 of Medical City Hospital in Pasig City to undergo panoramic dental x-ray.
Banac said that it was Parojinog who paid for
