BRIG. Gen. Debold Sinas, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, announced on Friday that they would monitor anew Metro Manila policemen playing golf during weekdays.
Sinas told reporters in a press briefing on Friday that the Red team, the group he assigned to monitor the illegal activities of policemen, may be recalled to perform other functions.
” Ngayon may nahuli baka may mag-attempt na naman may maglaro (Now that there were [some who] caught playing golf, there could be people who would attempt to play),” Sinas said.
Sinas urged the public to help them.
“I like to encourage the public na pag may nakitang pulis [na] naglalaro, picturan nyo lang ipadala sa hotlines siguradong aaksyunan [I like to assure the public that if you catch any policeman playing golf, take a picture and send it to our hotlines, we will take action],” Sinas said.
Aside from golf, Sinas vowed that other illegal activities such as going to the night clubs would be monitored.
On Thursday, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa reported that he relieved three police officials in Central Visayas for playing golf during weekdays.
