Six residences have been evacuated after a mudslide on Burnaby Mountain.
The slide came down in a lane Thursday morning at around 9 a.m. at Braeside Drive near Barnet Road in Burnaby.
Burnaby communication manager Chris Bryan says the slide happened after a retaining wall on a private property failed because of the heavy rain.
He said the six properties were evacuated to ensure safety.
A geotechnical engineer will be investigating, and B.C. Hydro crews are on site as well.
A rain warning is in effect for Metro Vancouver.
