Vancouver Weather: Heavy rain, tapering to showers

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Thursday, Jan. 23.Today’s weather is expected to start out with heavy rain, and a rainfall warning remains in effect for the region. However, Environment and Climate Change Canada says the downpour should taper off to showers in the afternoon, with a high of 11 C. It will also be windy near the water. Some areas, such as the North Shore, could see up to 40 millimetres more rain this morning before it starts to ease off, and the agency warns that localized flooding is possible. Overnight, expect rain or showers and a low of 9 C and then Friday looks mainly cloudy with a high of 9 C and a chance of showers, and possible sunny breaks. Looking ahead to the weekend, it will likely be another wet one. There are showers in the forecast on both Saturday and Sunday, with highs of 9 C and 7 C, respectively. Then it looks like the week will begin with – you guessed it — rain. Expect periods of rain Monday, showers on Tuesday, and then back to heavier rain on Wednesday.
