Vancouver Weather: Snow or chance of freezing rain

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Thursday, Jan. 16. Today’s weather looks a bit calmer than Wednesday, when a snow storm hit Metro Vancouver. The snowfall and wind warnings have been lifted, but Environment and Climate Change Canada says there will still be some wind near the water, and there is a risk Thursday of freezing rain. The agency says the day could start out with either snow or rain, ending near noon, with a high of 2 C. After that, the weather should be mainly cloudy, with a chance of freezing rain or snow, and another four centimetres of snow accumulation possible at higher elevations. Overnight, there’s a chance of more snow or rain showers, with a low of – 1 C, or a wind chill factor of – 5 C. On Friday, the temperature is expected to slowly climb back up for a high of 3 C, with periods of snow at higher elevations changing to rain around noon. Overnight Friday, expect rain and a low of plus 3 C. Then, it looks like rain both days on the weekend, with high of 6 C on Saturday, and 7 C on Sunday.

Tomorrow: Periods of snow mixed with rain changing to rain showers near noon. Local snowfall amount 2 cm. High plus 3 C.
