Why we love it: As a nod to the Year of the Mouse — and in celebration of Lunar New Year — Italian fashion brand Gucci has teamed up with Disney to create a collection featuring (yep, you guessed it), Mickey Mouse. The stylish range sees the “legendary character” will appear throughout the brand’s ready-to-wear and accessories for the Cruise 2020 collection in the form of prints, embroidered patches, motifs and more, according to the company’s website.
The Disney x Gucci collection, which dropped Jan. 8, includes handbags, ready-to-wear pieces such as shorts, dresses and jackets, as well as shoes and assorted accessories.
The collection boasts a “vintage-inspired attitude” with accessories sporting touches such antique gold-tone hardware, monogramming and light brown leather that’s meant to “convey a vintage look and feel,” according to the brand’s website.
While we can appreciate the fun ready-to-wear pieces, we’re partial to the Mickey Mouse adorned accessories such as a baseball cap and this Disney x Gucci small bucket bag ($1,980). The made-in-Italy handbag features a drawstring closure, adjustable strap — and, of course, the iconic double-G Gucci monogramming, with an oversized animation of the beloved mouse himself. The piece is playful and fun, and perfect for a fashionista … or a diehard Disney fan.
