THE official Instagram account of the Presidential Communications Office (PCOO) has been hacked, its official announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary for Global Media and Public Affairs Jusan Vincent Arcena decried the attempt by still unidentified individuals to have access to the PCOO’s Instagram page.

“We decry the malicious act by unknown individuals who hacked the Presidential Communications Operations Office’s Instagram Page, with the handle @pcoogov,” Arcena said.

“We are now looking into this matter and have coordinated with Facebook to resolve it immediately,” he added.

The PCOO’s Instagram page with 18,900 followers currently has a display photo and caption containing Arabic letters.

Two videos that apparently feature camel race in Kuwait have been uploaded on PCOO’s Instagram page by the hackers.

There are also three other videos uploaded on its Instagram story.

Arcena told the public to ignore any Instagram posts on the PCOO page by the hackers.

“The account has been locked by Facebook’s team so that hackers will no longer be able to use the account,” the PCOO official said.

“In the meantime, we ask our followers to disregard any present and future activities on our Instagram page, until such time that the matter is resolved,” he added.
