THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced on Wednesday that the issuance of permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) has been suspended for three days in parts of Manila for this year’s Traslacion.

Covered by the ban signed by Lt. Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge, were Quiapo, Sta. Cruz, and Binondo.

The implementation of the order started on Tuesday until Friday.

Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, NCRPO chief, said the order was for the Enhanced Managing Police Operations in close coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), other law enforcement counterparts and Local Government Units (LGUs).

Meanwhile, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said that 13,624 policemen would secure the Traslacion.

The Feast of the Black Nazarene is one of the biggest in the Catholic Church in the Philippines, drawing thousands if not millions of devotees to the streets of Manila.
