Metro Manila disaster agencies on ‘blue alert’ for Traslacion 2020

THE Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC) is on “blue alert” to ensure the safety and well-being of devotees on the Feast of the Black Nazarene on Thursday.
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo Lim, who is also concurrent head of the Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC), ordered the raising of the blue alert status of disaster and emergency response units of the MMDRRMC effective on Monday until January 10, 2020.
Under a blue alert, all response clusters and members of the MMDRRMC are placed on standby to respond to any disaster and emergency that may arise during the Traslacion 2020.
MMDRRMC is composed of concerned national government agencies and local risk reduction and management councils of 16 cities and lone municipality in Metro Manila.
The MMDA has deployed 1,000 personnel and volunteers for the Traslacion 2020.
