Vancouver Weather: Rainy and windy

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Friday, Jan. 3. The day will start out with heavy rain, continuing through the morning and then tapering off to showers in the afternoon, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. A rainfall warning was in effect but it has since ended. A wind warning remains posted Friday for Metro Vancouver. The agency warns a storm will bring a brief period of significant wind to B.C.’s South Coast Friday night and Saturday morning, with gusts up to 70 km/h in some parts of the region. Wind should ease by Saturday afternoon. On Saturday, expect periods of rain, wind, and a high of 6 C. Sunday also looks rainy, and with a high of 7 C and an overnight low of 3 C. Monday and Tuesday will likely also be wet, with highs of 6 C and 8 C, respectively.
Today: Rain at times heavy ending this morning then cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers. Amount 10 to 20 mm. Wind light except southeast 30 km/h near the water this morning and early this afternoon.
Tonight: Rain. Amount 5 to 10 mm. Wind southeast 70 km/h becoming west 30 this evening. Low plus 4 C.
Tomorrow: Periods of rain. Windy in the morning and early in the afternoon. Temperature steady near 6 C.
