Classes resume Jan. 6 – DepEd

Classes in public elementary and secondary schools nationwide will resume on Monday, January 6, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
Administrators of private schools have the discretion to schedule their own resumption of classes.
Under Republic Act 7797 or “An Act to Lengthen the School Calendar from Two Hundred (200) Days to Not More Than Two Hundred Twenty (220) Class Days,” private schools may deviate from the DepEd-issued school calendar.
Private schools should notify in advance their respective regional offices regarding any deviation from the school calendar.
SY 2019-2020 which consists of 203 school days, opened on June 3 and will end on April 3, 2020. JAN ARCILLA
