WATCH: ‘Estafa!’ Gamboa finds fake giant firecracker during inspection

BULACAN, Philippines — Authorities led by Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa laughed at a drenched and huge “atomic triangle” that later turned out to be just a small firecracker wrapped in layers of paper to make it appear big.

Gamboa, including other police authorities, trooped to a tent where confiscated firecrackers were kept to show the proper disposal of firecrackers.

Gamboa first dunked the “atomic triangle” in a huge container filled with water.

To ensure that the firecracker was fully drenched in water, Gamboa slowly peeled the illegal firecracker to discover the tiny firecracker inside.

“Nadaya, naloko yung nabibili! [We were deceived! The buyer was fooled!],” Gamboa said after seeing the smaller atomic triangle.

“Estafa! [This is estafa],” he went on.

Authorities of the police force earlier visited fireworks stores in Bocaue to remind vendors that it is illegal to sell powerful firecrackers.

According to the Bulacan police,  there are more than 60 licensed stores of fireworks in Bocaue.
