House set to OK bill granting salary hikes to gov’t workers

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –– Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said the House plenary was set to approve today the measure granting salary increases to government workers starting next year.

Rodriguez told a local radio station the certification from President Duterte that the bill is urgent will speed up the measure’s adoption.

The measure has passed muster at the House appropriations committee chaired by Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab and was set for plenary deliberations.

Rodriguez said this would be the legislators’ Christmas gift to government workers.
