Vancouver Weather: Mainly cloudy, with rain this afternoon

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Wednesday, Dec. 11. Today’s weather is expected to start out cloudy with a slight chance of drizzle and fog. Then the rain returns this afternoon, with up to five millimetres expected and a high of 8 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. Overnight, the region will see heavier rain, with up to 25 millimetres expected before it tapers after midnight to possible showers, with a low of 7 C. Thursday looks mainly cloudy, with a chance of showers in the morning, and 8 C. And then Friday looks similar, with a chance of showers and 9 C. Looking ahead to the weekend, the region could see some sunshine on Saturday, mixed with cloud, and a high of 7 C. Then it’s back to a chance of showers on Sunday, with a high of 5 C. Next week starts out wet, with rain on Monday and a high of 5 C.
Meantime, a snowfall waring is in effect Wednesday for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, with up to 25 centimetres of snow expected today and Thursday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says the heavy snow will ease in intensity through Thursday but periods of snow is still expected
