The rain-inducing tail-end of a cold front temporarily weakened but the northeast monsoon or “amihan” may continue to bring light rains over the eastern section of Luzon until the weekend.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the tail-end of a cold front may no longer affect any part of the country yesterday.

However, PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the amihan could still bring light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Aurora, and Quezon. Breezy weather could be also felt in the coastal and mountainous areas.

The amihan could also usher cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Mendoza said fair weather condition in the morning with chances of rain in the afternoon or evening is likely in Metro Manila until the weekend.
