A man with a disability was rescued by firefighters after falling down an elevator shaft at the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station on Monday night.
According to Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services assistant fire chief Dan Stroup, emergency services were called to the station at the corner of Davie and Mainland streets at about 7 p.m.
Stroup said witnesses reported a man in a mobility scooter had somehow opened the elevator doors at the street level of the station and had fallen into the elevator shaft.
He was rescued and suffered only minor injuries.
