A police investigation has shut down a large area of downtown Vancouver’s Yaletown district on Sunday morning.

Helmcken remains closed between Homer and Mainland streets, while Mainland and Hamilton are both closed between Nelson and Davie streets around 10 a.m., after police reportedly responded to an incident around 3 a.m.

Vancouver police have not yet shared details of what prompted the neighbourhood closure though early reports say a violent altercation had taken place in the area overnight.

More to come.
