Almost a year after opening an investigation into a suspicious death in Williams Lake, Mounties in B.C.’s Central Interior have made an arrest.
Wyatt Lee Boffa, 29, was arrested Friday without incident. He has been formally charged with first-degree murder and remains in police custody.
The investigation began on Dec. 11, 2018 when Williams Lake RCMP discovered a dead man at a home on Mountain House Road.
The deceased was identified as Jamie Sellars Baldwin, a 43-year-old resident of Deep Creek. His death was suspicious, though Mounties did not confirm a homicide investigation until Friday, shortly after locating Boffa in his hometown of Clinton.
Major crime investigators have remained committed, to Baldwin’s family and the entire community, to piecing together the circumstances surrounding his sudden death,
said Insp. Jeff Pelley. RCMP will continue to support the victim’s family, the community and the prosecution as the investigation begins to transition to the judicial process.
Despite the arrest, the investigation continues, and anyone with additional information regarding this homicide is encouraged to speak with police.
