FILIPINO boxers Carlo Paalam and Eumir Marcial defeated their respective opponents in the boxing event of the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the PICC forum tent on Friday.
Paalam beat 2017 Malaysia SEA Games gold medalist Muhammad Fuad Redzuan to enter the men’s light flyweight finals.
Paalam is at least assured of a silver.
Defending champion Marcial defeated Che Azmi Mohd Aswan of Malaysia in the semifinals of the men’s boxing middleweight competition.
The referee stopped the fight with still 1:06 left in the first round as Che was no longer fighting back.
