Magnitude 5.7 quake hits Davao Occidental — Phivolcs

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Thursday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs spotted the epicenter of the quake at 145 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 8:24 p.m.

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 35 kms from the surface.

Intensity 4 was recorded in Malungon, Sarangani while Intensity 2 was felt in General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani.

Phivolcs said the quake would not cause damage but aftershocks were expected.
