This will be the best birthday and Christmas for a 65-year-old man with nasopharyngeal cancer after he bagged the over P50-million jackpot prize of Super Lotto 6/49 last Sunday night, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said.

PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma handed over the check to the lucky bettor from Cavite at the PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City.

“Meron siyang nasopharyngeal cancer. Nakakatangap siya ng chemo assistance sa PCSO. Hindi niya akalain makakatangap din siya ng cheke na panalo,” Garma shared to reporters.

The bettor told Garma that the cash prize was the best gift he have received for his upcoming birthday next week.

“Lucky pick ‘yung ticket and birthday ng winner next week,” Garma added.

The PCSO general manager said the loyal lotto bettor, who placed his bet at an outlet in Baclaran, Parañaque City, had been purchasing lotto tickets for 30 years.

He told Garma that he will use the money for his medical treatment and to help his family.

The PCSO gave the lucky bettor a LandBank check after he presented his winning ticket and valid government-issued identification cards.

During Sunday night’s draw, the Super Lotto 6/49 has a total jackpot prize of P50,305,924
