Gymnast Yulo adds 3 silvers on last day of gymnastics competition

WORLD champion Carlos Yulo added three silvers on Wednesday, the last day of the gymnastics competition at the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Yulo, who will compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, settled for a silver medal in the vault with a score of 14.700. The hometown crowd didn’t hide its dismay when Indonesia’s Agus Prayoko scored a narrow 14.734 points to seize the gold.
Le Thanh Tung scored 14.617 for the bronze medal.
Yulo produced his second silver in the parallel bars, posting 14.600 points. Defending champion Dinh Phuong Thanh of Vietnam tallied 14.800 to keep his crown. Le of Vietnam took home a bronze medal with 14.233 points.
Yulo’s final performance at the horizontal bars was good for a third silver as he scored 13.667 against Dinh who won the gold with a score of 13.767.
Singapore’s Sean Yeo recorded 13.567 for the bronze.
Yulo finished with two gold medals and five silvers. His first gold came from the individual all-around men’s artistics and his second from the floor exercise artistic events.
After the competition, Yulo refused to be interviewed.
Yulo’s camp and Gymnastics Association of the Philippines President Cynthia Carrion have not commented on the incident.
