The government is determined to continue providing easy access to quality healthcare to Filipinos after the signing of the Malasakit Center Act.
Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Martin Andanar said the new law complements existing laws such as the universal health care program that provide medical assistance to Filipinos in need.
“We welcome President Duterte’s signing of the Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Center Act as it will help Filipinos get speedy assistance in government hospitals especially the indigent citizens that often seek financial aids due to medical needs,” he said.
“This shows that this administration is truly dedicated in providing efficient health and social services that will afford convenience to those who are in need of financial medical assistance from different government agencies, such as the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, through Malasakit Centers in all public hospitals,” he added.
