IT has been years since they performed jointly around these parts and, no doubt, many fans are excited with Pops Fernandez making the announcement she will be teaming up with Martin Nievera again and for a very special show.

This is for “The Royal Affair: 2020 New Year’s Eve Countdown” happening at The Tent at Solaire, Dec. 31.

“The performance is going to be special because we’ve never done a New Year’s Eve show together so, I’m really excited about it,” said Pops in an interview.

They just completed a sold-out tour in the United States, and Pops maintained they are on a roll.

She shared, “The shows abroad were great, and our rapport was superb so, I think it will continue as we perform at The Tent.”

“I never thought I would miss performing with Martin but I did and it shows. There’s just something about us performing together that brings out the best in me, I guess.”

She is mum as to their repertoire but hinted it will be filled with classics.

“Obviously because we grew up in the ‘80s so, a lot of the songs will come from the era,” she said. “We will also perform fan favourites and a bunch of new songs that we haven’t performed together yet.”
