Signal No. 3 only up in northern Occ. Mindoro as Tisoy maintains strength
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Warning Signal No. 3 is now only raised in northern Occidental Mindoro, including Lubang Island, as Typhoon Tisoy maintains its strength, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Tuesday evening.
According to the state weather bureau’s 8 p.m. weather bulletin, Tisoy was located 145 kilometers north of Coron, Palawan with maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.
Pagasa said Tisoy is moving westward at 25 kph.
Signal No. 3 is raised over northern Occidental Mindoro (Abra de Ilog, Looc, Lubang, Mamburao, Paluan) including Lubang Island.
Meanwhile, Signal No. 2 is raised over Oriental Mindoro, Batangas, rest of Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bataan, Metro Manila, southern Bulacan, southern Pampanga, southern Zambales, Calamian Islands, and western portion of Quezon.
Signal No. 1 is raised over northern portion of Camarines Sur, southern Nueva Ecija, southern Aurora, northern portion of Palawan, Cuyo Islands, Camarines Norte, Tarlac, rest of Quezon including Pollilo Islands, Romblon, rest of Camarines Sur, rest of Zambales, rest of Pampanga, rest of Bulacan, northen Aklan, and northern Antique.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals over Pangasinan, southern Quirino, southern Nueva Vizcaya, rest of Aurora, rest of Nueva Ecija, and Burias Island are now lifted, Pagasa said.
Pagasa said frequent to continuous heavy, with isolated intense, rains are expected over Quezon and Rizal between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, occasional to frequent heavy rains are expected over over Mindoro Provinces, rest of CALABARZON, Marinduque, and Romblon while intermittent heavy rains are expected over Calamian Islands, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
