PH bags five golds in sanda wushu event

THE Philippine sanda team garnered five of the six gold medals at stake in the 30th Southeast Asian Games wushu competition on Tuesday at the World Trade Center in Manila.
Divine Wally (48kg women), Jessie Aligaga (48 kg men), Arnel Mandal (52kg men), Francisco Solis (56kg men) and Clemente Tagubara (65 kg men) each won gold medal while Fred Padua (60kg men) settled for silver.
Wally defeated Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Chinh in the finals, followed by Aligaga’s victory over Permana Ade of Indonesia, while Mandal won over Pratama Laksamana also in the finals.
Solis beat Widiyanto Yusuf while Tabugara defeated Thai Suksanguan Kittisak.
