Magnitude 4.4 quake jolts Samar — Phivolcs

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Samar early Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs spotted the epicenter of the quake at 31 kilometers southwest of Guiuan, eastern Samar at 12:39 a.m.

The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 25 kms from the surface.

Intensity 2 was felt in Borongan City; Palo, Leyte.

The seismology agency said it was not expecting any damage and aftershocks. FRANZ
