Signal No.3 raised over Catanduanes as ‘Tisoy’ regains strength

Catanduanes is now placed under tropical cyclone wind signal No. 3, as typhoon “Tisoy” (international name “Kammuri”) has regained strength before its landfall over Catanduanes or Albay between tonight (December 2) and tomorrow morning (December 3).
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) last located Tisoy at 355 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes around 4 a.m. Monday.
It has re-intensified packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 185 kph, but retained its westward movement at 20 kph.
Signal No. 3 is now in effect in Catanduanes.
Meanwhile, Signal No. 2 was raised in the eastern Laguna (Pakil, Mabitac, Santa Maria, Famy, Siniloan, Pangil, Paete, Kalayaan, Lumban, Santa Cruz, Pagsanjan, Cavinti, Pila, Magdalena, Luisiana, Nagcarlan, Liliw, Majayjay, Rizal and San Pablo City), eastern Batangas (Padre Garcia, Rosario, Taysan, Lobo and San Juan), Quezon including Polillo Islands, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar and Biliran.
Areas under Signal No. 1 are southern Isabela (Palanan, Dinapique, San Mariano, San Guillermo, Benito Soliven, Naguilian, Reina Mercedes, Luna, Aurora, Cabatuan, San Mateo, Cauayan City, Alicia, Angadanan, Ramon, San Isidro, Echague, Cordon, Santiago City, Jones and San Agustin), Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, rest of Laguna, rest of Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Calamian Islands, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras northern Negros Occidental (Bacolod City, Bago City, Cadiz City, Calatrava, Enrique B. PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said intermittent to occasional heavy rains are being felt in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Northern Cebu, Dinagat Islands and Siargao Island.
She said heavy rains will become more frequent to continuous starting this afternoon (Monday) until tomorrow (Tuesday) over Bicol Region, southern Quezon, and Marinduque.
