A 44-year-old man has died after his motorcycle struck a tree in downtown Vancouver on Sunday.
Vancouver police say the motorcycle was heading east on Nelson Street, near Granville Street around noon, when for unknown reasons the rider lost control, left the road and crashed into a tree.
No other vehicles were involved.

His name was not released.
It was Vancouver’s 12th motor vehicle fatality of 2019.
Investigators from the VPD’s collision investigation unit are working to determine the cause of the crash, but speed is believed to have been a factor.
