No detention and punishment for arrested vapers — PNP

LT. GEN. Archie Francisco Gamboa clarified that people caught vaping would only be arrested but would neither be punished nor detained.
Gamboa said police would invite violators to the precinct where they would be listed on the blotter.
“We can arrest but we cannot punish, arrest is not punishment,” Gamboa said.
Gamboa said people could still vape in designated smoking areas (DSA) based on the Executve Order (EO) 26, which President Rodrigo signed in 2017.
PNP said no violators have been arrested as of posting time.
