President Rodrigo Duterte has reorganized the National Cybersecurity Inter-Agency Committee (NCIAC) to better prepare the country in handling online threats.

The executive secretary and the National Security Council director general co-head the NCIAC.

The NCIAC was created by then-President Benigno Aquino 3rd in 2015.

“The NCIAC is mandated to assess the vulnerabilities and risks of the country’s cybersecurity, issue updated security protocols to all government employees and enhance the public-private partnership to deter cyberattacks, minimize cyber risks and increase cyber resiliency,” the President said in his executive order.

The order takes effect immediately.
