‘Ramon’ lingers, more areas under storm signal

Signal 1 was raised in more areas in Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora as tropical storm “Ramon” lingers off the coast of east of Luzon on Sunday, the weather bureua said.
Signal 1 was up in the eastern portion of Cagayan including Calayan, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Lal-lo, Gattaran, Alcala, Baggao, Amulung, Iguig, Tuguegarao City and Peñablanca; San Pablo, Cabagan, Maconacon, Tumauini, Divilacan, Ilagan City, Palanan, and Dinapigue in Isabela and Dilasag
Casiguran, and Dinalungan in Aurora.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration last spotted “Ramon” at 415 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora. It was carrying maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said it was moving slowly in a northwest direction.
Bulquerin said Ramon, the 18th tropical cyclone to enter Philippine area of responsibility this year and the second in November, may make landfall in Northern Luzon on Tuesday. DIVINA NOVA JOY DELA CRUZ
