4 PNPA cadets charged criminally for hazing

FOUR cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) were criminally charged for hazing on Friday.

Maj. Resty Soriano of Silang, Cavite Municipal Police Station in a report sent to Camp Crame, said Cadets 3rd Class Jovan Sernat, Arron Dahryl Villanueva, Paul Birung, and Cadet 2nd Class Clarence Cabucos have been charged with violation of Section 2 (a) of Republic Act (RA) 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Act.

The charges against the four stemmed from their alleged maltreatment of Cadet 4th Class John Rafael Desiderio, 19, who was brought to a hospital from injuries he sustained in hazing rites inside Camp General Mariano Castañeda.

The cadets are also facing administrative charges.
