‘Ramon’ threatens Isabela, Cagayan

TRACK of tropical storm ‘Ramon’

Tropical storm “Ramon” (international name “Kalmaegi”) slightly moved north-northwest yesterday and may make landfall over northern Isabela or Cagayan Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration.

Ramon has moved closer to the country and was estimated at 500 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora as of 4 p.m. yesterday.

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, moving slightly slower north-northwest at 15 kph.

PAGASA weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said Ramon has slightly changed track but the general direction is still towards Northern Luzon.

Should it maintain its current movement, he said Ramon may make landfall over northern Isabela or Cagayan Sunday.

Tropical cyclone wind Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over Catanduanes while Signal No. 1 is up over the eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, and Dinapigue), northern Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan), Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Albay.
