Fake PWD IDs selling for up to P2,000 each in Manila confiscated

SOCIAL Welfare and Development Secretary Ma. Asuncion “Re” Fugoso ordered the confiscation of fake persons with disability (PWD) IDs in Manila after learning that these were being sold from P500 to P2,000.
“Nagbigay ako ng strict orders sa district officers na i-confiscate agad agad, kasi minsan nagaalanagan sila, pinapapunta pa sa main office (I gave strict orders to the district officer to confiscate all fake PWD IDs because sometimes these officers hesitate and still instruct them to go to the main office),” Fugoso said, noting how those the fake IDs can still be used.
Fugoso said obtaining a PWD ID won’t incur any charges.
The central office in Manila City Hall said it has confiscated over 100 fake IDs of PWDs, most of who claim to be suffering from eye disabilities. JOSHUA VERA CRUZ
