Cineplex to show free Christmas movies on Dec. 7 to kick off the season

Cineplex is kicking off the holiday season by showing free Christmas movies for its annual Community Day event. On Dec. 7, film fans can visit their local participating Cineplex to watch the following films for free:
• A Christmas Story
• Elf
• Gremlins
• The Polar Express
• National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Concession snacks such as popcorn, soft drinks and select candy are also being sold for just $2.50, with proceeds and donations benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.
“We have a long history at Cineplex of giving back to our local communities and have proudly contributed millions of dollars to non-profit organizations across the country,” said Cineplex president Ellis Jacob. “This year, we are excited to host our ninth annual Community Day fundraiser in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and their work in creating opportunities for children and youth across the country to connect, learn, play and have fun.”
Doors open at 9 a.m. and tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
