The biggest manning event in the world is set, once again, to happen in Manila on November 18-21 with over 500 delegates from the global maritime industry.
The four-day Crew Connect exhibition is the leading event for professionals in manning, shipping, and maritime education and training for the past 21 years and is supported by government organizations, local and international maritime organizations.
With about 90 speakers and 50 industry solution providers joining the event in Sofitel Philippine Plaza, Crew Connect stays on top of the most relevant and useful subjects in the manning industry with this year’s chief agenda: Cruise Connect Summit, the first and only event dedicated to crew recruitment, training and retention for cruise and designed by senior experts representing the largest operators, association, and regulators; and the Women in Shipping, the first ever summit for maritime women to tackle empowerment, challenges, and contributions of women.
Other agenda includes Competency Planning for Automated Shipping, Crew Welfare Management, Digital Data and Crewing Efficiencies, Automation in Global Transport, Safety at Sea, Recruitment and Retention, Outlook for Shipping Markets in Turbulent Times, P&I Claims, Diversity and Inclusivity in Shipping, Training Strategies for Innovation, and Dealing with Millennials.
Among this year’s attendees include Esben Poulsson, chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS); John Lloyd, COO of the Nautical Institute; Paul Wheeler, fleet safety director of Holland America Group; Kuba Szymanski, secretary general of InterManager; Adam Lewis, training head of International Maritime Employers Council (IMEC); Rasmus Thomsen, director of the Danish Maritime Authority; and many other personalities from the international shipping, manning, and maritime education and training sector.
The Philippines will be represented by OIC-administrator Vice Admiral Narciso Vingson of the Maritime Industy Authority along with other maritime executives, stakeholders, and experts.
Crew Connect is organized by Informa, a London-based multi-national and publishing company with Lloyd’s List as one of its many brands; Lloyd’s List is one of the world’s oldest and continuously-publishing journal which provides shipping news since 1734.
