VICE President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo will meet with members of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) this Friday, the new drug czar herself said.

In a chance interview with the media on the sidelines of her community visit to Rizal on Thursday, Robredo announced that she and her co-chairman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Aaron Aquino, would meet at her headquarters, the Quezon City Reception House, at 2 p.m.

She said government agencies under the ICAD have been invited to the meeting.

Robredo reiterated that her acceptance of the post on Wednesday did not mean that she was considering running for president in 2022.

“Definitely not at all. If I have been thinking of running in 2022, I would not accept [this post], because it is too much of a risk,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

“If I were thinking of what is going to happen in 2022, would I even dare to take a hike now just to have a dialogue with a few people, majority of which do not know me at all?” Robredo told reporters who were in the area.

Robredo trekked rough terrain to Sitio Macantog in Tanay, Rizal on Thursday to lead the turnover of solar kits as the community, composed of 60 families, currently had no source of electricity.

Later in the day, Robredo is scheduled to turn over 15 sewing machines to the women of Samahan ng mga Kababihan tungo sa Kaunlaran at Kalusugan (SKTK) Rizal. She will also hold a dialogue with community leaders, local officials, and the fisherfolk. GLEE JALEA
