A former vice-principal in B.C.’s francophone school district has been reprimanded for asking students to show her the bands of their underwear.
In a consent resolution agreement posted publicly online on Tuesday, the British Columbia commissioner for teacher regulation says a soiled pair of boy’s underwear was found on the lid of a toilet and feces were found on the floor of a bathroom in June 2018.
The documents say Delphine Yvette Andree Guerineau wanted to identify the student responsible and had boys from grades 3 to 11 show her the waistbands of their underwear.
The province’s francophone school district placed her on paid leave two days later, pending its investigation.
It terminated her employment on Oct. 1, 2018.
The commissioner says in the agreement, which does not identify the school, that Guerineau admits the conduct constitutes professional misconduct and has agreed to a reprimand.
The document says Guerineau, who could not be reached for comment, has agreed not to make any statement that contradicts, disputes or calls into question the terms of the agreement or the admissions made in it.
