It’s Halloween season and for those of us want to take part in the fun without going over the top with costumes, you can still have a little fun with makeup.
Here’s a versatile look that you can recreate for spooky frights or sexy nights.
Using Laure Mercier Caviar Stick in Tuxedo, draw a thick line onto the entire eyelid to create the base of the eyeshadow design. Blend using concealer brush.
Next, contour the crease area with a warm-brown eyeshadow, rather than a cool-brown eyeshadow. This is a great way to blend everything out, creating a softer and warmer multi-dimensional finish. I’m using Makeup Geek Signature Eye Shadow in Sidekick with a Nadittude Tapered Blender Brush. For added intensity, I rimmed the lower lash line with the shame eyeshadow colour.
I rimmed the waterline with Smashbox Always On Gel Eyeliner in Fishnet then dabbed on a metallic lilac eyeshadow. You can also put Makeup Geel Day Dreamer onto the inner corner of the eye. This is optional as it adds a light, shimmery and reflective finish.
To brighten under the eyes I used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer, I added bronzer and blush to warm up the complexion, then highlighted the high peeks of my face (cheek bones, bridge of nose and brow bones) to create a healthy and glowing finish. I love using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Soft and Gentle.
On my lips I used Dior Lip Glow in Berry. Typically I would suggest a light lip when wearing a dark eye. If you’re going for a edgy and dramatic look, which is a huge fall trend, try a deep colour like Kat von D Whiches or Damned.
I filled in my eyebrows with Benefit — Precisely My Brow Pencil in 3.5.
Strip lashes are a great way of enhancing any eye makeup. I’m using a set of Nadittude Ciao Bella strip lashes. Before applying, it’s important to trim down the outer corners of the strip lashes, apply a thin layer of adhesive and use a good quality lash adhesive such as Duo.
