1,343 displaced families in Mindanao quake continue to stay in evacuation centers – NDRRMC

A total of 1,343 families continue to stay in evacuation centers more than a week after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Saturday.
The NDRRMC said that of the number, 936 were being served inside three evacuation centers while 407 others were staying in other shelters.
In its report, the NDRRMC a total of 7, 303 families were affected in 127 villages in Davao (Region 11) and SOCCSKSARGEN (Region 12).
Northern Mindanao, Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) had a combined total of 7,055 damaged structures, the NDRRMC said.
The number of deaths remained at 7 while 215 were injured.
A state of calamity was declared in Matanao and Bansalan in Davao del Sur and Kidapawan, Tulunan, and Makilala in Cotabato.
NDRRMC spokesman Mark Timbal told The Manila Times in a text message that the cost of damage was still being assessed.
