PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte is back on a motorcycle against the advice of his doctors to rest and limit his physical activities, a week after he figured in an accident inside the Malacañang compound.
Duterte’s former top aide, Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go early Friday morning shared to the media photos of the President riding a three-wheeled motorcycle.
In a text message, Go said the 74-year-old President went for a 10-minute ride at the compound of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in Manila.
“Nag-motor ulit kanina. Mga 10 minutes sa PSG Compound (He went for a ride again [Thursday night] for around 10 minutes at the PSG Compound),” Go said.
Duterte, 74, was advised by his doctor to rest after he endured an unbearable pain in his lower back as a result of the accident on October 17 that prompted him to cut short his trip to Japan this week.
Duterte sustained minor injuries — light bruises and scratches — to his elbow and knee.
The President, nevertheless, is feeling “much better”, according to his spokesman Salvador Panelo.
Go said, however, that the President would take a week off from work.
