B.C.’s police watchdog is seeking witnesses to a Vancouver arrest and collision that took place earlier this month.
On Oct. 16, just before 5 p.m., Vancouver police arrested a man outside a jeweller at Alberni and Burrard streets. During the arrest, the man suffered serious injuries. While police were taking the suspect into custody, a vehicle collision took place at the same intersection. No one was hurt in the collision.
The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. is now searching for witnesses or anyone with dashboard camera footage of the arrest or the collision. The IIOBC typically investigates cases involving police that result in death or serious injury.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact investigators at 1-855-446-8477.
