‘Perla’ leaves, severe storm spotted

Typhoon Perla (international name Neoguri) has left the Philippine area of responsibility but a severe tropical storm was spotted outside the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted Perla 1,035 kilometers northeast of Basco Batanes.
Weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said Perla weakened from a typhoon category to a severe tropical storm as it made its exit, carrying maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 135 kph.
She said Pagasa is monitoring a severe tropical storm with international name Bualoi. It was last spotted 2,690 kilometers east of Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gustiness of 135 kph and moving northwest at a speed of 20 kph.
On Monday, scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms were expected in Quezon, Camarines Provinces, and Catanduanes. Isolated light rains may be experienced in Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan. The rest of the country may experience localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
