The Texas State Fair is here! For those of us (I say us because I lived in both places) in North Texas and North Louisiana, October is a time of revelry. In Shreveport, we host the Louisiana State Fair, and I often went there as a kid on Halloween. It’s a safe and fun place to trick-or-treat, and back then, it was the thing to do.
A nice thing about the State Fair is that if you missed the Texas State Fair, you could come on over and catch it in Louisiana. I knew many who would go to the one in Dallas and then come back home to Shreveport. Sometimes it would be on my birthday, since it’s right after Halloween. Ah, memories.
The Texas State Fair has the Classic Corral, which is a part of the Texas Auto Show. Every year they have a car show with classic cars that are all shined up and ready for fingers sticky with funnel cake residue to get all over them. (Just kidding, I am sure the owners made sure their guests cleaned their hands.)
This year, classic cars weren’t the only ones being shown. Tesla is a symbol of the future of the auto industry. It represents evolution, a change for the better that provides a cleaner way to transport ourselves. It also symbolizes luxury, with its sleek design and advanced technology. Tesla, as you might have gathered by now, was well represented at the Texas State Fair. (Editor’s note: This is quite funny when you consider that Texas doesn’t let Tesla sell cars within its borders.)
I actually have a few artist friends who have been featured at the Texas State Fair, and now, thanks to Anita Pacheco, the Tesla team’s work has also been featured at the Texas State Fair.
Anita and I are both members of the popular Facebook group Tesla Divas, which is an all-woman group that supports women Tesla owners and fans. It’s a supportive group that empowers women. In her post, Anita expressed her joy at being able to show her Model 3 in the Classic Corral. It proved to be a great experience for her and her kids, all helping to educate people about electric vehicles.
Anita got to speak to many people about her experience as a Tesla owner and what it’s like for her to own an electric vehicle. Hers wasn’t the only Tesla or electric vehicle featured in the Classic Corral, though. Even better.
She mentioned that people were taking videos on their phones and kids were pointing and shouting, “That’s a Tesla!” As we’ve written before, kids seem to really know what’s up. Anita added, “So many people were fascinated with the frunk. Overall great experience!!!!”
Also at the Texas State Fair, Metro by T-Mobile creatively announced that they had changed from Metro PCS to Metro by T-Mobile and provided a unique mobile display stand for their phones. It was a beautiful purple Model X that doubled as a kiosk.
The North Texas Tesla Owners Club was also there, and they shared a photo of this stunning green Tesla Model 3 below. The plates say 3 Envy, and you can guess the theme of this beauty. If the seven deadly sins were cars, they would all be Teslas.
