Side Dishes: Drags Benny to raise money for Vancouver Pride

On Oct. 20, there will be fun and there will be food at Drags Benny Vancouver, a fundraiser for the Vancouver Pride Society.
It’s at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel (partnered with Eat North and TD Bank). Chef Michael Pagnacco’s three-course brunch, some drag-inspired drinks, and a stellar lineup of top drag performers should make for an unforgettable day.
Laila McQueen of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Kendall Gender, Gia Metric, Mina Mercury are some of the performers on stage and in the room. For tickets ($70 general, $80 VIP) go to eventbrite.ca and search for Drags Benny. The event starts at 11 a.m.
• The 18th EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking show takes place November 4 to 9. Events include EAT! Harvest (with chefs from Fogo Island Inn, Richmond Station, Nostrana, Biera Restaurant, La Palma, Cioppino’s, The Acorn, Campagnolo and Wildebeest).
The EAT! Dinner Series include dinners at The Acorn, The Vancouver Club, Wildebeest, Cioppino’s and Campagnolo. EAT! Pastry features the city’s best pastry chefs and EAT! Expert Classes features pizza making and grilled Peruvian street foods.
