TOLL adjustments on the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) would be effective starting next week, its operator said. In a statement issued Tuesday, Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC) said, following the Toll Regulatory Board’s (TRB) approval, the company will start applying the new toll rate matrix by October 24. For the R1 Expressway, CIC will collect an additional P1, P2 and P3 for Vehicle Class 1, 2 and 3, making the toll rate for the 7-kilometer Cavitex Segment 1 (R1) P25, P50 and P75, respectively. The provisional initial toll for the Cavitex-C5 Link Expressway, on the other hand, would be P22 for class 1 Vehicles (cars), P44 for class 2 vehicles (mini vans and buses), and P66 for class 3 vehicles (large truck and trailers). Since opening to the motoring public late in July, CIC said it has been hitting its target of serving 8,000 motorists, also easing traffic woes in Sales interchange near Villamor Airbase, East and West Service Roads, and EDSA.
